Our Lady's Outreach Ministry (OLOM) exists for anyone who needs a little help providing clothing and other necessities for their families. Our Lady's Outreach Ministry was formed to replace the former St. Vincent de Paul Store on Ford Street in Ogdensburg, and now operates as a retail outlet for used clothing and other goods in the former Bishop Conroy School building at the corner of Morris and Washington Streets in Ogdensburg. People from all over St, Lawrence County and beyond shop our store.
The store is staffed by a team of volunteers, mostly ladies who attend St. Mary's Cathedral and Notre Dame Church. The store's inventory comes entirely from donations from people who find themselves with items they no longer need. To be accepted, items must be clean and in good-to-excellent condition. Our shelves are always full of great bargains.
NOTE: Because of space and other limitations, we cannot accept donations of furniture or appliances. We also do not accept cookbooks.
After paying for minor operating expenses, all proceeds of store sales are used to assist those in need in various ways. Our beneficiaries are people who are in moderate to desperate, immediate need. That part of our operation is attended to by a second team of volunteers, mostly men with various business and professional experience. This team works with priests of St, Mary's Cathedal Parish, pastors of other local churches, and other charitable organizations such as Catholic Charities, and the Good Samaritan Fund that is operated by the Diocese of Ogdensburg.
