A SYNODAL INVITATION! Most of us have seen dramatic changes in our Church over the course of our lives, and we have thoughts about how to build on the good and strengthen those areas that are weak. Now is the time to share our thoughts and dreams and to listen to others express their experiences and wisdom. A synodal Church, in announcing the Gospel, “journeys together.” How is this “Journeying together” happening today in our local Church. What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our “journeying together?”
All those who faithfully attend including those who are involved in groups and ministries within the Parish are invited to two opportunities to participate in our Synodal Discussion: December 6th from 9 - 11 am in the Brzana Hall and December 7th from 6 - 8 pm in the Brzana Hall below the Cathedral.
As we prepare to meet in early December, please begin with prayer:
• Recall our experiences—What experiences of our local Church does this question call to mind?
• Re-read these experiences in greater depth—What joys did they bring? What difficulties and obstacles have they encountered? What wounds did they reveal? What insights have they elicited?
• Gather the fruits to share—Where in these experiences does the voice of the Holy Spirit resound? What is the Spirit asking of us? What are the points to be confirmed, the prospects for change, the steps to be taken? Where do we register for a consensus? What paths are opening up for our local Church?
