May 29, 2021 Ordination to the Order of Priesthood

Through the laying on of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, the Most Reverend Terry R. LaValley, Bishop of Ogdensburg will Ordain to the Order of Priesthood Deacon Matthew Stanley Conger, Dea-con John Kennedy Ojuok and Deacon Fernando Valdez Solomon, Jr..

Deacon Matthew Conger was raised right here at Notre Dame Church! Experiencing the dedication of Father Shurtleff was an inspiration in his discernment of the Priesthood. Reverend Conger will celebrate his first Mass at Notre Dame Church at a special 2:00pm Mass on Sunday, May 30th. Deacon Fernando Solomon is from Quezon City, Philippines. He considers his vocation a fruit of the words and inspiration of Pope Saint John Paul at World Youth Day, 1995 in Manila.

Deacon John Kennedy Ojuok hails from Kenya. He has wanted to be a priest since he was a young child. Testing the religious life with orders of St. Augustine and the Domini-cans, we are blessed he has discerned a dioc-esan ministry here in the North Country! Reverend Ojuok will celebrate his first Mass at the Cathedral's 11:00 Mass on Sunday, May 30th. All are invited and it will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/EJ4cUJ5nnFo.
